It does add healthy fats so it would certainly increase the fat content as opposed to oats without a fat source 👍🏼

I’m glad they like them! Thank you for trying the recipe 😊 they last well in the fridge for 1 week (only a couple of days on the counter because there are no preservatives). I like to freeze them and then take out what I need for a week and keep those in the fridge. Harder biscuits that have less moisture in them might keep a little longer on the counter than softer biscuits.

I don't do as much quick--or traditional--pickling as I should, probably because I can get good lacto-fermented cucumbers, sauerkraut, and tomatoes from my local Polish grocery. But this pickled onion recipe is so easy and cheap, that it's worth trying. Thanks for posting 🙂

Oh thank you ☺️ it keeps well for a week. I haven’t pushed it much beyond that but it might last a little longer. If the tofu has a lot of moisture in it and you don’t press it you may just not need to add much milk to thin the spread.
What do americans means when they say " a quarter cup" ? Can somebody tell me in mililiters? This recipe seems so delicious !
@@YFL.111 1/4 cup milk would be about 59 ml. If you follow the recipe on my blog post you can toggle the ingredients from cups to metric! 30-59 ml is the range for the plant milk. I’m glad it looks tasty and I hope you like it when you try it!

1 cup or 104 grams oat flour (ground oats). You can use whole wheat flour if your dog is not sensitive to wheat!

Yes I’ve noticed here in BC they have been around $1.99 on sale but usually $2.50 or more. It seems like a small thing but I think the savings really do add up if you cook with beans a lot 👍🏼
@@TastyThriftyTimely yes have always bough this already prepared but will try tomorrow and soak and try the instant pot way. 22 minutes instead of 1 hour and seems tou can skip the soaking.

You definitely can but you might find you want to add more lemon juice (or another clear vinegar) in its place. It does help to mask the flavour of the tofu. 👍🏼
I make my own tofu. Bought a soy milk maker and it has saved me a huge amount of money. Soy beans are cheap.
This is good to know! I didn’t know you could buy soy milk makers so I’ll look into that. I’d love to avoid all the packaging for tofu so I’m curious to try making my own 👍🏼
@@TastyThriftyTimely I have a Tribest SB-130 Soyabella and love it. Only thing you need to know is too clean the screen well with a brush. I am not a fan of the milk but the tofu is great. The gypsum and nigari can be found on the web if you can't find it locally. I was using epsom salts and it worked fine but the 2 others left a better taste. For making soy yogurt instead of soaking the beans I used Miyoko Schinner's recipe from her book "The Homemade Vegan Pantry" leaves a less beany taste. Boil the beans for one minute then let them cool for 30 minutes before rinsing and putting them in the soymilk maker. BTW you can use a blender to make soy milk but it is very messy and time consuming. I did it a couple times and the cleanup was horrible. The Tribest is probably my most used appliance other than the microwave.

Great to know that you’ve loved the Soyabella and it’s made the process less messy and less time consuming! Thank you so much for this info. Yes it is. It’s just easier to call it a “cream cheese” alternative so that people looking for a dairy-free option can find it even if they wouldn’t think to search “tofu spread” 👍🏼
I love to make chocolate pudding which is silken tofu, Cocoa powder and maple syrup. I also love air fried tofu. Those are two favorite tofus.

Yes that’s a great tip! I’ve been doing that lately and have found that so many more come off!
The B vitamins (according to doctors here on youtube)point out the possible dangers and inadequacy of synthetic B vitamins. I learned to purchase a natural B vitamins (u can research this), and I do not want fortified B in the natural yeast. (So find out the synthetic B vitamins and read the yeast label to learn exactly which B vitamins are used to “fortify”. Im looking forward to non-fortified natural yeast thanks to all my research. (Junk processed kids cereal is “fortified”, processed white bread, the list is endless)

Oh my word.....I made these and they are SOOOOOO good. I'm never buying plant based crackers at the store again. The hardest part was trying to get the mixture to spread really thin and cutting them (mostly due to the pumpkin seeds). I wish I didn't have to cook them for 50 minutes but man it was worth it. Thank you so much for this recipe as I've never found another plant based cracker recipe that I liked and this is also oil free!!! I'm definitely going to be making these again.
Oh good I’m so glad you liked them in the end! The larger seeds can be a little annoying to cut through (sometimes you have to slice down on them instead of dragging something like a pizza cutter through them… even though I usually just pat the cracker back into place if it pulls and it still bakes up nicely). Hopefully the more you make them the quicker they will be to spread too. Thank you so much for letting me know they were worth it and thank you for giving them a try! Enjoy!

I frequently get the 12 pack of extra firm sunrise firm tofu from Wholesale Club (Canada). Im almost aleaysbjust cubing it to put on rice but your vegan cream cheese recipe is my fav so far.
